Client: The Lowry
Specification: Partial panorama
For: Print
When the marketing department at The Lowry had a requirement for a panoramic
image of the exterior of the building for use on range of printed materials,
they looked first to their Internet-based virtual tour. Due to the fact that the
virtual tour had been produced with a ‘one shot’ panoramic system (not by Pan
3Sixty) the image quality was too poor for use in print.
The marketing department then commissioned Pan 3Sixty to produce a new,
high-resolution panorama specifically with print in mind. The resulting panorama
was used as a header image on a series of printed materials promoting The Lowry
and the Lowry Designer Outlet (a two floor shopping complex) both of which are
located on Greater Manchester’s waterfront at The Quays.
‘Having seen examples of their work over the web, The Lowry commissioned Pan
3Sixty to produce an image showing both The Lowry and Designer Outlet in one
shot.
Due to weather issues, Philip Giles liased with The Lowry on a daily basis in
the approach to the desired date to establish optimum conditions for the shot.
This degree of flexibility was a considerable benefit.
The finished shot met our expectations and requirements to the letter. It is a
central part of the brochure and communicates exactly the close physical
relationship between The Lowry and Designer Outlet. The first mail out has
certainly made an impact and we will be commissioning Pan 3Sixty again in
future.’
